This is the homepage of Vani, a musical group who performs a genre of music called "Raga Rock". Raga Rock is not a new style but one that traces its origins to some musical experiments in the 1960s. The most notable example was the Beatle's piece "Norwegian Wood". Vani is composed of four musicians: Gus Buzbee on guitar and vocal, Chandrakantha Courtney on vocal and tanpura (tamboura), David Courtney on tabla, and Bob Goldman on Bansuri (Indian flute). Fusion music has become an important part of the world music scene. Musicians such as Ravi Shankar, Ali Akbar Khan, Nusrat Fateh Ali, Zakir Hussain and a host of others have been performing it for years.
